It is my hope that precious things run, will leave an impact on you. It is deeply personal, I am a trauma survivor, and in my life though well adjusted and a loving and kind individual I can in certain moments look back and whisper in my mind, “The pain will last forever”.

Not cheery but well done.

Precious Things Run: A Play for Black Box is written as a stage production, however there is a scene toward the end where the stage direction is for a camera to pan over some pictures, so perhaps it was intended for film as well. It is the story of a man whose every hope is dashed; his wife runs away with his new child, he fosters a new child only to lose her. It is determinedly sad and gives the picture of a man without hope. The character of the man and the second child are the only ones really developed to any degree, and they are developed well, I got a clear feeling of both characters. I think it would be more effective viewed than read. The author's first language is not English, and some of the narrative is a little awkward because of that. I enjoyed the play, and would like to see it done on stage, which I think would place it at best advantage.

I love this book! It had such a magical feel to it and I just recommend anyone to read it! If you like Harry potter books, you'll enjoy this book as well!
