The best derivations for PN, BJT,MOS cap and MOSFET !!!

This is one of the best books explaining the pn junction, bipolar transistors, MOS capacitor , and the MOSFET. The derivation are extremely clear and logical,and every question that you think of is answered in the next line. This book is for someone who already have taken some course in electronics, and who really wants some solid understanding of the devices, all that without being a genious in semiconductor physics. Gauss's low, and KVL is almost all that is needed. Derivations are extremely clear, and thorough.

This is by far the best Microelectronics book I've ever read (and I have a large collection). The authors really dig deep into the material and explain every little step as you progress toward the bigger picture. I absolutely love this textbook. I recommend it to anyone who appreciates a technical read with rigorous and thorough mathematical derivations of equations that describe physical phenomena in microelectronic devices and materials.

Textbook for an MIT electrical engineering header

Charles Sodini is a professor at MIT who teaches 6.012 (Microelectronic Circuits and Devices) and is the co-author of this book, which we use in his class.
The textbook is very well organized and gives very clear examples and numerous practice and design problems to play with. The derivations are easy to follow and the diagrams are well notated and complement the text.
6.012 is a one semester course at MIT covering all the topics discussed in the textbook. In addition to weekly problem sets (which are nothing more than the P problems from the textbook), the course is supplimented by a design project (similar to a design question you might find in chapter 13, but at a bigger scale), and two laboratories in device characterization (sadly, only available for MIT students). SPICE is used extensively.
Someone mentioned that the problems seem like plug-and-chug, but I think the book is trying to teach you intuition so when you handle realistic problems (such as those presented in the design project questions), you have an idea of how to approach it through rough hand-calculations and then follow up with more precise measurements in SPICE.

Surprisingly, a really good book

The book doesn't get a 5 because it doesn't refer to EViews for its procedures. Business forecasting is really difficult using just Excel. If any of you have ever created scatter plots with Excel, you know that it's a time consuming process. EViews is an extremely fast tool and this Business Forecasting book should include procedures for using EViews because that is the preferred tool used in Biz Forecasting classes.

I've had many statistics classes, and the explanation of statistics in this textbook is by far the best I have ever seen. The book is well written and about as clear as it is possible to make this difficult subject. Other people have complained about this textbook, and I would argue that the textbook is really good, but that the subject is just very difficult. If you don't have an excellent instructor, you will find yourself weeding around in the dark looking for direction. It is certainly possible to just follow the book, but it is sometimes not entirely clear why you are doing what you are doing. Again, not the fault of the textbook. Forecasting is inherently a very complex topic and you are going to be hurting without a good professor. Fortunately, I had a good one for my class. I had originally checked this textbook out of the library, but I found myself wanting to keep it as an excellent reference, so I bought my own copy.

Hard book to use

You are not buying this book because you want to.
But be warned, if you are not using Minitab for class, you will have to scour the Internet for Excel tips and tricks to make the lessons work out.
I found the font to be too small for many of the important points (some of the problems absolutely could not be worked without the exact reference to the fine print notes on pages below the examples). Why would you reduce the font size for the examples?
Working through the text was difficult due to inconsistent and poorly referenced greeks (rho means several different things in the book).
If you are an instructor, you should assign individual members of your statistics class the same case study topics throughout the course (stick with the same data set) to increase the richness of the experience. H&W apply the successive statistics topic to the same basic case study data sets from chapter to chapter.

I learned a lot - but the experience could have been better with more Excel, and more consistency, and better editing.

On my 4th stats related class and this book is by far the worst. Why would you use/reference methods, tests, or models from Chapter 9 in Chapter 2 and not provide explanation? Why would you give examples, but not explain all the steps? Why would you refer to mini tab outputs without providing instructions on how to accomplish them? This book does not follow the standard basic to challenging presentation of material. Instead, it jumps around and fails to truly explain the concepts. Texts is tiny - tough to read even with my glasses I typically don't need. Mr. Hanke - I recommend a new editor.

Will their love survive?

After falling for Alexander and Alexia in book one, I suspected that things may take a turn for the worse in the second book. After all who's going to read a series where everyone is always happy-go-lucky and in love without any of the drama?
However, this book did not go quite as I expected. While in Dubai, to check on the status of one of his hotels, Alexander and Alexia are forced to deal with some issues from their pasts. As more details of Alexander's sordid history comes to the forefront Alexia starts to doubt her place in his world, not that I blame her. How can this handsome, wealthy, playboy ever really settle down? As these fears continue to weigh on Alexia, Alexander begins to show a pattern of possessive and domineering behavior.
When they return to Zurich, Alexia's worst fears are confirmed when she finds Alexander in a compromising position with a woman from his past. Will these two be able to work past their issues and find love with one another? At this point I'm not so sure.
Thank goodness I already have the third book so I can jump right back into their story and get some answers:)

Really Good Series

This book is much more emotional and intense than the first one, but I have really enjoyed reading both of them. There were many times in this book that Alexander was a little too possessive and too jealous for me, but then he would make up for it later. He definitely has some secrets that are giving him issues, but the question is, does he really love Alexia? Alexia is having lots of trouble trusting Alexander, and having confidence in their relationship. Now let me tell you, Sharlyn G. Branson really knows how to write some scorching, sizzling, hot sex scenes. They definitely don't have any issues there. Warning: This book does have a really big cliffhanger. I want to quickly get started reading the next book to see what happens next. I received this book from the author in return for an honest review.

In this book we see more of Alexia insecurities in the relationship with Alexander. Alex past is coming back to bite him in the butt when Alexia are asking him questions he knew that would hurt her. I can see that Alexander really loves her and he is doing his best to show her. Oh, I so dislike Vanessa by the way. Another cliffhanger. Now I have to find out what's going on. Will their love survive or will it be over for Alexia and Alexander? I can't wait to read the next book.

“Alexia, be more responsible and check your cell from now on.” He sounded like my father, which made me roll my eyes."

“God, how soft your lips are. You’re so sweet. What have you done to me, Alexia? I’m losing myself in you,” he whispered, his lips touching mine. “I want you forever. I want you to be mine. Just mine.”

“You make me want you all the time, Alexia. No other woman has had such power over me. And you must remember this once and for all.”

“I hear every word, baby. It’s you who’s not hearing me. You are made for me. Just for me. I’ve finally met the woman of my life and I want to be with her, with YOU.”

Francesco took a step toward me, hugged me, and we were about to give each other pecks on the cheeks when Alexander grabbed me by the waist and pulled me toward him in a gesture of possession. He was showing a sense of property toward me, keeping me only for himself and preventing any man from touching me. He’d managed to drill that into me already. I hadn’t met a more jealous man in my life.

“We have to talk,” he said in a quiet and seemingly calm voice.
